Hello Monday, Here is my first video blog post!

I picked up a Flip MinoHD video camera last week so I have decided to do a video blog post to change things up! I also learned how to use my web cam finally (don't ask). I complained that there are only so many ways to explain another 3 hour ride and 30 min brick run, so here is another way. Man, I must do a lot of rambling, but here I am in the flesh and blood explaining things not in the written word. Enjoy! (and excuse my lazy eyelid. I can't help it! haha!)....oh and you might need to up the volume a bit @ times...I have no way to balance the audio between my web cam and Flip.


Wow! I didn't mean to ramble on for 10 minutes! OOPS! If you got bored, at least skip ahead to the very end. I think its funny and its the first time that has happened to me since I was a kid.

Sunday I did the 15K race. Here is my post race reaction!


As promised, here are my splits:
15K(9.3 miles), 1:06:04 / 7:07 pace avg
Mile 1: 7:21
Mile 2: 6:44
Mile 3: 7:42 (WTF?)
Mile 4: 6:57
Mile 5: 7:05
Mile 6: 7:08
Mile 7: 6:59
Mile 8: 7:00
Mile 9: 6:56
last 0.3: 2:10

That mile 3 split KILLED my overall average! GAH! Oh well! I am still super pumped with how I did today. After a 5K warmup, the race, and a .6 mile cool down, I rounded out the day with 13.1.


Since I parked a block away from the Shake Shack on 77th & Columbus, I couldn't pass up the opportunity for some uber greasy recovery food:

    So, I have to say, I would LOVE to have a 7:42 anywhere in my run. You busted that PR.

    Stay healthy, and have fun at the 70.3 AND more importantly (priorities) having beers with Jeff post race.

  2. Those are some smooth concrete roads you get to ride on! dude that 39 degrees is cold - this guy would have done that ride on the trainer!

  3. I'm going to post my report later today. I find it strange that my 3rd mile is equally if not more horrible. Gravity must have been higher during the first lap!
    Still can't believe that I forgot you were there today until mile 4. We were in the same corral!!!

  4. Add 20 seconds to mile 2 and subtract 20 from mile 3.
    You must have taken the 4 mile race marker at mile 2.

  5. I had to park on the west side too. To add insult to injury, I had to pay for parking since there was a parade setting up which closed most of the east side.

    I should have done me some Shake Shack. Next time!

    That cold tingling feeling the absolute worst. Do you have any shoe covers or anything?

    You fricken killed that run!!! I don't know now. Maybe you should be on the run leg of the relay team?? And the bike. And why not the swim too because you are rocking that. Hell, what the heck do you even need two other people for?

    PS: I think someone accidentally put some lettuce on your greasy food. Must have been an accident right?
