Welcome to my triathlon blog! I started this blog in September 2007 to chronicle my journey leading up to my first triathlon in June, 2008. That came and passed and since then I have completed my first Ironman and continued to progress deeper into the triathlon world. Triathlon is NOT a sport, its a lifestyle
Ironman Texas 70.3, Galveston |
I grew up in the Lakes Region area of New Hampshire, and then went to school down in Savannah, Ga at the Savannah College of Art and Design to study animation. I now work at Blue Sky Studios in Greenwich, CT.
I got my start in endurance sports at the age of 16 on the cycling team in high school. I continued to cycle recreationally throughout college and into my early 20's before I started to get bored. In 2007 a coworker of mine mentioned that she was doing her first triathlon with little background experience. I saw that anyone could do this and that was all of the motivation that I needed. With my background in cycling, I had enough of an aerobic background that going hard was not totally foreign, I just had to relearn how to swim and how to run (which was very humbling!).
I am a big believer in learning from your mistakes and reflection. You have no idea where you are going to go unless you know where you came from. See you at the finish line!
