MonticelloMan Half (70.3 distance) 5/6

Ironman Mont Tremblant 140.6 8/19
It is going to be a progressive race season much like my 2009 & 2010 campaigns where I started out the winter and early spring with running races, then progressing into triathlon season, ultimately ending with the grandaddy of the season, Mont Tremblant. It is going to be a fun season of invading Canada twice, and! what is really cool is that I will be doing a race ON the Ironman course, just only half of it 8 weeks out from the full distance! How cool/awesome/spectacular/rad is that?!?!
I am still on the lookout (first invite wins!) for an April (either sprint/olympic tri or running) race. Not too worried about that right now, but its looking like my triathlon season opener will be down in Virginia this year in early May (unless I get reserved for an April race). Even though it is not a race, I will again be attending my coach's June Lake Placid camp. Hello volume and beer!
Here is to a busy 2012!!!
What about you? Have you shored up your 2012 schedule yet? Any big races? New distances?
I dont see any Ohio races? Second year in a row
ReplyDeleteI had a plan, then it got blown up, so now I dont know
how did you learn about the monticelloman? where are you planning on staying? this race wasn't on my radar but looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteMonticelloman just sounds cool.
ReplyDeleteHey, on April 14th Mike, Dave and me are doing a 25k trail run (50k is also an option)about an hour north of Kingwood. You got a place to stay if you want in! Oh, lots of single trail, roots, rocks, sand - gradual elevation changes!
That looks like a solid race schedule. I agree that the coolest part is that you're doing the 70.3 on the same course as the 140.6. You'll have that baby memorized! I'm a big fan of the build up with running races first building to the big daddy IM. Looking good, Jon!
ReplyDeleteA nice lookin' 2012 you have in store!
ReplyDeleteDude, no races in April? Are you some kind of slacker???
ReplyDeleteYes! I'll probably come watch you guys at MonticelloMan. I also outlined my 2012 schedule today. It went from "I'm not thinking about this until after National" to "Holy crap, I've already registered for a lot of races!"
ReplyDeleteapril = rumpass in bumpass, oly or sprint, look it up. it's probably going on my schedule. :)
ReplyDeleteYou're so organized! I have added one race to my 2012 calendar...lame. I can't figure out what is going to be my big A race yet.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to meet all the bloggers at Mont Tremblant. Poutine for everyone!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great schedule! That Mont Tremblant triathlon looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteAnd I liked seeing the word "campaign" above - it's like you are in the military for your next military campaign! lol
Seeing as how that I am injured again I have nothing on my race calendar now for 2012 - but my hope is to do Bay to Breakers on May 12. After that it would hopefully be SF half marathon in July, SF Giants half in Aug, SJ half in Oct, and Fresno marathon in Nov. But all of this is dependent on me getting healthy by May - which I think will happen.
Just registered for Ironman Louisville in August. Heat, baby! Would have preferred something closer to my own realm, like IMCoT, but it's already sold out! Heck, Arizona is sold out for next November! I had no idea 140.6's closed so fast. Oh well, more time to train, anyway. Which might help, considering it'll only be my fourth tri and first longer than a sprint. Baby steps are for babies. IM or bust!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great schedule! I keep trying to plan out my spring despite the fact that I told myself I wouldn't register for anything until after Goofy. Not sure how much longer I can keep that promise to myself.
ReplyDeleteNice - Blame Canada! (southpark). I'll be freezing along out there w/ you in January in CP @ the 10k and the half!
ReplyDeletethat's a solid season, and you'll still be done by august (with plenty of opps to add more, of course). i'll be at national and will come spectate monticelloman!
ReplyDeleteI kind of want to do a random half marathon in new york in january but it sounds complicated.
ReplyDeleteSprint tris scare me. Godspeed.
Solid schedule! My only hope now at beating you at IMMT is that you are to tired from racing 2 70.3's beforehand.
ReplyDeleteI need a January half mary and I can't find any around here. Not sure if I could travel to NY though...
Awesome schedule!! I will be with you (behind you) at 2 races! :)
ReplyDeleteIs that LP training camp the one put together by the Shoreline Sharks and HEAT? Towards the end of June?
ReplyDeleteI'll be attending that one too. I've heard that it's awesome fun and great training!
Dude, love the schedule. I wish I put thought into my schedules :( I see a cool place to go to and say, yup, I will race that!
ReplyDeleteMy new races for next year, Wildflower 70.3. Should be a riot.
Good stuff man, should be a blast!
dc in march huh. we have some friends that are running that who invited us up. don't know yet if we'll go, but i'll keep ya posted!
ReplyDeleteWow! Looks like a solid schedule. The only race I have planned is my Crutch Catch 500, in which I plan to be the only entrant and only victor. ;)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great 2012 for you. I like the progressive schedule.
ReplyDeleteGood looking schedule as usual. 2012 is going to be just awesome for you with that run up to IMMT. The question is what do you do from August to December?
ReplyDeletebeautiful schedule!
ReplyDeleteAWESOME STUFF
wheres that stand alone marathon?!
I qualied with a half marathon time for NYC...I feel like I should jump on it as I seiously doubt I will ever quali again on the new times
meet in Staten Island in Nov?
